Rock Climbing, Monkeys, and Buckets On My Birthday

I really don’t think there is much else to add that the title of this post – it pretty much says it all!

It was an awesome day on the Thai Island of Koh Phi Phi. Our afternoon was rigorous one – as the four of us went rock climbing, something none of us had tried before. It was an intense challenge, and a great workout. The most interesting part was when we were ambushed by almost a dozen monkeys who wanted to steal our bananas. These little fellas might be cute, but they can be pretty dammed vicious as well!

Birthday dinner was, well…absolutely mind-blowing! I believe that the best food we have eaten on this trip was in Italy, with Thailand maybe taking second place. So having Italian food served to me in Thailand is about as good as it gets! Thank you ricotta and spinach stuffed cannelloni! And a Nutella-topped chocolate cupcake for dessert sure wasn’t a terrible way to end the dinner!

The rest of the night was spent sharing drinks with friends – and I do mean sharing. Four or five straws in a single bucket – you don’t want to be playing that game with total strangers. A night full of laughing, dancing, one or two shooters I suppose! (All things considered, we were pretty still well-behaved)

Don't look down!

Thai buckets - oh boy...

Where's Waldo?

Thanks so much to Mike, Jess, Carly, Marissa, and of course my beautiful wife Shawna for the incredible celebration. Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday!
