Well, Skott and I are nearly ready for Christmas…
Okay, so I guess it’s going to be a little bit of a different holiday season this year!
We’re trading snow for sand, minus 30 for plus, and snow shoes for surf boards.
We’re hoping Santa can still find us…on the coast of Ghana at Busua Beach.
We have signed ourselves up for a week long surf camp and daily yoga lessons to get nice and limber for the New Year!
It’s not the traditional Christmas we’re used to, and we’ll be missing our family and friends dearly, but we know this well be a very special holiday-one to remember!
So cheers to a wonderful 2011…to great friends & family who’ve supported us throughout the first half of this journey, to the adventures we’ve been so lucky to experience & share, and to staying healthy and safe on the road (get off the motorcycle Skott).
And cheers to an amazing 2012….to upcoming visits from peeps we love, to food & friendships no matter the language, and to taking time for people….
Four young Ghanaian women recently visited Vancouver, Canada-their very first time abroad. They were amazed by the experience but they made an observation that really stuck with Skott and I. They said, “In Ghana we don’t have very much, but we always take time for people. In Canada you have everything, but no one seems to have time for anybody else. They noticed that few people walking on the street greeted one another or welcomed these strangers to the city. So our New Years Resolution is to take more time for people…as we’re finding out, it’s not where you are, it’s the people you meet in the places you go that truly make the difference.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!
