After some down time in Narbonne (and we promise to get that post up soon), we headed to the west coast of France…Anglet to be exact. Essentially, we were looking to get as close as possible to St.Jean Pied du Port and the direct train from Narbonne ended in Bayonne. Anglet was a quick cycle away and it just happened to be a surfer’s paradise on the Atlantic Coast. We decided to check it out and squeeze in one more beach day before starting the Camino de Santiago.
As it turned out, we LOVED Anglet. Skott compared it to a French version of his former Australian home, Byron Bay. We enjoyed this laid-back beach town even more than Narbonne and were just sorry that we only had one day! It’s quaint little beach homes with Parisian blue shutters and the warm (surprising, I know!) Atlantic water was truly paradise!
